13F is a quarter-end photograph, developed six weeks late.

Most products dress 13F up as if it were live. It isn't, and pretending otherwise is how people get hurt. So we lead with the limits (every one of them on the surface, on every row) and only then show you what it's genuinely good for.

It is

A snapshot of long positions as of quarter-end, due within 45 days. Every row is stamped with its data_as_of date so a Q1 holding never reads as today's.

It isn't

Real time. By the time you read it, the fund may have already moved. We never imply otherwise.

It is

Long equity and reportable options: the disclosable book, presented cleanly and without spin.

It isn't

Complete. Shorts, swaps, and most foreign holdings are never disclosed. The picture is one-sided by design.

It is

70 funds analysts actually read: Berkshire, Tiger, Coatue, Pershing Square, Third Point, Greenlight, Appaloosa, Baupost, not the 5,000-filer long tail.

It isn't

The whole market. It's a deliberate, curated set. Breadth comes from reading those 70 against each other, not from chasing everyone.

The grid

Read 70 funds against each other in one table.

Low resolution per fund becomes useful when you line the funds up. Who initiated, who trimmed, how big the position is as a share of the book, and how many of the 70 hold the name at all. One quarter, one grid, no inference.

Shown: the four funds with the largest reported positions in these five names. The “held by” column counts all 70 tracked funds.

A name held by 12 of 70 is a consensus long. A new position from one fund against a trimming crowd is a contrarian one. The grid makes both legible at a glance, which is the only resolution 13F honestly supports.
